Join jewellery artist Rasma for a unique workshop where you'll create your own silver ring inspired by the simple beauty of a matchstick. Perfect for beginners and intermediate makers alike, this workshop will guide you through the complete process of crafting a wearable piece of art.
During this hands-on workshop, you'll learn essential silversmithing techniques while creating a contemporary piece of jewellery. The design plays with the familiar form of a matchstick, transforming it into an elegant and wearable ring. All materials, including silver wire, will be provided.
WORKSHOP PROCESS
- intro of the process and safety at the studio
- preparation of material (Silver wire will be provided already close to
the width needed for Perfect Match)
- melting the tip of the matchstick
- calculations for rings (measuring sizes)
- cutting
- bending and shaping in desired match
- sanding the surfaces
- polishing
- oxidising the tip of the matchstick
The process takes around 3 hours for the group (Max 5 persons in a group)
